Sorcerer’s Trials 20 “Kuya and Quincy” Battle Guide [NUCarnival]

Sorcerer’s Trials “Kuya and Quincy” Battle Guide [NUCarnival] Sorcerer’s Trials

This is a stage guide for the Sorcerer’s Trials, “Kuya and Quincy”.

Stage Guide

Party Formation

TauntRecommended
Remove guard stanceNo need
Recommended CDNo specific recommended cooldowns (CD).
Recommended: Include a taunt-capable Guardian

Kuya’s 2-turn paralysis will target the taunting Guardian, allowing characters in slots 2 and 4 to avoid paralysis. (A taunter doesn’t necessarily need to be a Guardian.)

Recommended: Use “high HP” characters (non-water elements) in slots 2 and 4

These slots will take heavy hits from Quincy’s attacks.

Fire element characters are preferred.
Avoid placing water element characters in slots 2 and 4, as they will take increased damage.

Battle Tips

AUTO BattleAUTO play is possible (with one manual intervention)
Skills
Use ultimate skills freely without saving them.
AUTO mode can clear this stage with a manual interruption:
  1. Use AUTO to reduce Kuya’s HP to about 10% or less (just 1–2 turns away from defeating).
  2. Turn off AUTO and manually target Quincy.
  3. Resume AUTO mode and let it finish.
Defeat both enemies simultaneously.

If one is defeated first, the other gains a 300% attack power boost for 50 turns.

The timing of their defeats can be slightly staggered.

Immediately after one is defeated, no attacks will be received due to the “Vengeance” skill activation.

  • Example:
  • Turn 17: Defeat Quincy.
  • Turn 17: No enemy attacks due to “Vengeance.”
  • Turn 18: Defeat Kuya.
Attack Effectiveness Starts on Turn 3

Enemies only start taking damage from turn 3 onwards.
If your party can use damage-dealing ultimate skills from turn 1, save them until turn 3.

Battle Flow

  • STEP1
    Outside Gimmick Phase:
    • Saving ultimate skills is unnecessary (except for taunt users).
    • Recommended: Focus on reducing Kuya’s HP first. (There is a gimmick that requires attacking Quincy later.)
    • Attack effectiveness starts from turn 3.
    • Both enemies must be defeated simultaneously.
  • STEP2
    5n+5T:Taunt

    [5T、10T、15T、20T、25T、30T、35T、40T、45T…]

    • Use “Taunt” to let one character absorb Kuya’s 2-turn paralysis.
    • Tip: It’s easier to remember if you think of this as occurring on multiples of 5 turns.
  • STEP3
    5n+6T:Attack Quincy 3 Times

    [6T、11T、16T、21T、26T、31T、36T、41T、46T…]
Quincy’s skill decreases his attack power by 65% per hit (1 turn).

    • Land three attacks on Quincy (basic attacks or ultimate skills).
    • If three hits cannot be landed: Characters in slots 2 and 4 should defend if their HP is low.
    • Note: Healers’ basic attacks with attack effects won’t count toward reducing Quincy’s attack power.
  • STEP4
    5n+7T:Defend if HP is Low

    [7T、12T、17T、22T、27T、32T、37T、42T、47T…]
Quincy will unleash a random attack on two characters, with a 100% damage increase.

    • Early Turns: These attacks are manageable (e.g., turn 7 or 12).
    • Later Turns: Damage increases significantly (e.g., turn 22 onward). Characters with low HP should defend in later phases.
