This is the battle guide page for the high-difficulty stage “Evil Spirit 02” in the NU:Carnival “Evernight Castle” event.
Stage Strategy

Party Composition
Taunt | Recommended (Can be cleared without a Guardian) |
Defense Break | Not Needed |
Recommended CD | CD6 is also OK |
If the enemy (Controlled Exorcist Soul) takes damage greater than 30% of its max HP, it will reduce all incoming damage by 85%.
So, it’s recommended to build a party that doesn’t overstack firepower.
It’s better to avoid characters who can greatly boost the party’s damage output (such as fully leveled supporters, Space Blade, or Amusement Park Dante).
This is a stage with a gimmick where using an ultimate skill applies taunt.
So, by including a Guardian and using their ultimate skill last, the whole party’s HP can be stabilized.
(Stage can be cleared without a Guardian as well)
This stage has a gimmick that fully charges all party members’ CDs at once, so CD6 is acceptable.
Strategy Tips
AUTO Clear | Not possible (some turns require manual defense) |
Ultimate Saving | No need to save, but timing is important |
The “Soul with Remaining Ego” is a Fire Attribute enemy (red colored)
Damage to the “Soul with Remaining Ego” can only be dealt in the following way:
- Reduce the HP of the “Controlled Exorcist Soul” to 1%
- The “Exorcist Soul” will then damage the “Soul with Remaining Ego”
Whenever an ultimate skill is used, the character who used it last gets taunted.
Example:
- Character A uses an ultimate skill
- A gets taunted
- Then Character B uses an ultimate skill
- A’s taunt is removed, and B gets taunted
Battle Strategy
Battle Flow
- No need to save ultimates.
However, since using an ultimate applies taunt, be careful with the timing.
- STEP16n+2T: Basic attack or defend (× Ultimate forbidden)
[2T, 8T, 14T, 20T, 26T, 32T, 38T, 44T…]
- If you use an ultimate: the character who used it will be KO’d and it’s an instant defeat
- STEP26n+3T: Everyone Defend (including healer)
[3T, 9T, 15T, 21T, 27T, 33T, 39T, 45T…]
- If anyone fails to defend: KO and instant defeat
- STEP36n+4T: Use ultimate recommended
[4T, 10T, 16T, 22T, 28T, 34T, 40T, 46T…]
- If you don’t have a Guardian: using ultimate here is recommended (even if taunted, damage is low)
- Use the ultimate of the “character with the highest HP” last
- STEP46n+5T: Everyone Defend (except healer)
[5T, 11T, 17T, 23T, 29T, 35T, 41T, 47T…]
- All characters who can deal damage to enemies must defend
- Healer may either basic attack or defend
* If healer’s attack deals damage, they should also defend - Dealing too much damage will make the “Exorcist Soul” faint (= gimmick fail)
- STEP56n+6T: Attack (defending is meaningless)
[6T, 12T, 18T, 24T, 30T, 36T, 42T, 48T…]
- Incoming “defense-ignoring AoE attack” (defending won’t reduce damage)
- If you cleared the previous 6n+5T gimmick correctly, it reduces damage taken from this AoE attack
- STEP66n+7T: Use ultimate recommended
[7T, 13T, 19T, 25T, 31T, 37T, 43T…]
- Next turn triggers a gimmick that fully charges everyone’s CD
- All characters who can use their ultimate should do so here
- STEP7When only ‘Soul with Remaining Ego’ remains: Everyone Defend (including healer)
Once only the “Soul with Remaining Ego” is left, just keep defending to win.
