NU Carnival [Fanciful Capriccio] Phantom Dream Overture-03 'Frenzied Pursuers' Battle Strategy Information

Party Composition

TauntNot Required
Defense BreakNot Required
Recommended CDCD4 or below
Highly Recommended: Characters with ‘Attack Judgement’ Ultimate Skill

Ultimate skills without attack judgement cannot reduce the stack of “basic attack damage reduction debuff.” Therefore, prioritize including characters with ultimate skills that can deal damage to enemies.

Recommended: CD4 or below
Not Recommended: Water-Attribute Characters

Both enemies are wood-element, so avoid water-element characters if possible.
Fire-element characters are recommended.

Not Recommended: Supporters with ‘No Attack Judgement’ Ultimate Skill

Characters with ultimate skills that have no attack judgement (i.e., characters who cannot deal damage to enemies with their ultimate skills) cannot eliminate the stack of “basic attack damage reduction debuff.”
If this debuff reaches the maximum of 6 stacks, it will result in “102% basic attack damage reduction” × 2 enemies, meaning a total of 202% reduction in basic attack damage. This is quite painful in terms of damage output.

Therefore, if possible, include supporters with ultimate skills that can deal damage, or alternatively, prioritize debuffers or attackers with ultimate skills that have attack judgement instead of support characters.

Recommended Party Composition Example
  1. Character with ‘Attack Judgement’ Ultimate Skill (CD4 or below)
  2. Character with ‘Attack Judgement’ Ultimate Skill (CD4 or below)
  3. Character with ‘Attack Judgement’ Ultimate Skill (CD4 or below)
  4. Character with ‘Attack Judgement’ Ultimate Skill (CD4 or below)
  5. Healer

Strategy Points

AUTO StrategyNot Allowed
Save Ultimate SkillIt’s recommended to save “ultimate skills with attack judgment” (for triggering mechanisms)
Before turn 20, if you don’t reduce the HP of two enemies to 1%, it will result in a forced defeat

So, “turn 20” is the last turn you can attack.

Mechanism Explanation

Each time you perform a basic attack: your “basic attack damage” decreases by 17% (up to 6 stacks) × for each of the 2 enemies
  • “Basic attacks without attack judgment” also count (e.g., healer’s basic attack, etc.)
  • If you use an “ultimate skill attack,” this stack will not increase, so there’s no need to worry.

This stack is applied by receiving attacks from “two enemies” simultaneously. In other words, every time you perform a basic attack, your basic attack damage will be reduced by 34% (17% × 2).

If you hit with an ultimate skill during specific turns: It reduces this ↑ stack by -2 on yourself, and the stack on the healer by -1 × 2 enemies

“Ultimate skills without attack judgment” will not be counted (e.g., healer’s ultimate skill).

  • Example:
  • You have “basic attack damage reduction Lv3” × 2 on yourself and “basic attack damage reduction Lv3” × 2 on the healer.
  • On turn 9, you hit Rei with an ultimate skill.
  • This will result in “basic attack damage reduction Lv1” × 2 on yourself and “basic attack damage reduction Lv2” × 2 on the healer.
There are ‘turns where damage cannot be dealt with ultimate skills’

There are “turns where damage cannot be dealt with ultimate skills.” However, since “ultimate skills with attack judgment” are generally used as “stack-reducing gimmicks,” you should save them for such stages, so there’s no need to worry too much.

  • Rei turns when ultimate skill damage cannot be dealt:
    3n+5T [5T, 8T, 11T, 14T, 17T, 20T, 23T…]
  • Kuya turns when ultimate skill damage cannot be dealt:
    4n+6T [6T, 10T, 14T, 18T, 22T…]

During the above turns, you can still deal damage with basic attacks.

Battle Strategy

Flow of Battle

Outside of the gimmick
    • Ultimate skill:

    • It is better to save it (for when you want to use it for the gimmick)

    • “Ultimate skills with no attack judgment” do not need to be saved. You can use them at any time (e.g., healer’s ultimate skill, etc.)

    • STEP1
1st Turn: All members Defend (including healer)
        • 2nd Turn: It is recommended to defend (damage will not go through even if you attack, but you will still take damage from enemy attacks)

        • Attack will be effective starting from the 3rd Turn

    • STEP2
3n+6T: Rei‘s ultimate skill (healer can save theirs)

      [6th Turn, 9th Turn, 12th Turn, 15th Turn, 18th Turn, 21st Turn…]

        • If you want to use the healer’s basic attack here, it is best to follow the order of “Healer’s basic attack → Other character’s ultimate skill” (because of stack application)

        • Healer cannot remove their own stack by using their ultimate skill (because there is no attack judgment)
(Healer’s debuff stacks are removed by using another character’s ultimate skill)

        • Red text turn: The turn where “Use ultimate skill on Kuya” coincides in timing

    • STEP3
4n+7T: Kuya‘s ultimate skill (healer can save theirs)

      [7th Turn, 11th Turn, 15th Turn, 19th Turn, 23rd Turn…]

        • This is the same gimmick as “3n+6T: Use ultimate skill on Rei”.

        • Red text turn: Coincides with using ultimate skill on Rei

Battle Flow: For Those Who Don’t Want to Calculate

Battle flow for those who find stack calculations troublesome. (If you’d like to see the flow in a video, you can check out the guide video below.)

If you follow this flow, you can keep the stacks to a minimum while fighting (alternating between +2 and -2 stacks).
To maximize damage output, we’ve adjusted the flow so that other members can perform basic attacks when using their ultimate skills by inserting a defense turn as needed.

Note
    • Assuming the following party composition (all characters except the healer have a “basic attack with an ultimate skill”):
      CD3, CD3, CD4 or lower, CD4 or lower, Healer (CD3)

    • The healer should defend during turns when “healing seems unnecessary” to be safe.
(The healer is not included in the “all basic attacks” step in the flow below, so it’s fine for them to either use their ultimate skill, defend, or do anything.)

    • STEP1
      Turn 1 & 2: Everyone Defends

    • STEP2
Turn 3: Everyone performs Basic Attacks

    • STEP3
      Turn 4: CD3 Basic Attack & CD4 Defend

    • STEP4
      Turn 5: Everyone Defends

This turn is just for stack management with defense.

    • STEP5
      3n+6T:ReiにCD3ultimate skillを当てる・CD4basic attack

      [6T、9T、12T、15T、18T、21T…]

    • STEP6
      4n+7TKuyaにCD4ultimate skillを当てる・CD3basic attack

      [7T、11T、15T、19T、23T…]

    • STEP7
      8T:全員でbasic attack

      8T・13T・16T…

    • STEP8
      10T:CD3basic attack・CD4Defense

      10T・14T・17T…
