Sorcerer’s Trials “Reappearing Riddle” Battle Guide [NUCarnival] Sorcerer’s Trials

This is a stage guide for the Sorcerer’s Trials, “Reappearing Riddle”.

Stage Guide

Party Formation

TauntNo need
Remove guard stanceNo need
Recommended CDCD4 or lower (CD3 is particularly ideal for maximizing ultimate skill usage).
Assign a “high HP” character to position 3.
Focus on high firepower.

Since you need to defeat Phantom before Blade is taken down, use a high-damage party. Characters with skills that “increase the entire party’s attack power” are highly recommended.

Extend Blade’s survival with attack-reducing skills

If your party lacks the firepower to defeat Phantom before Blade’s HP runs out, include characters with skills that “reduce enemy attack power”

CD3 enables frequent ultimate skills

Given the stage’s heavy gimmick load, opportunities to use ultimate skills outside of gimmick-handling are limited. For more frequent ultimate skill usage, prioritize CD3 characters.

Battle Tips

AUTO BattleNot Recommended
SkillsUltimate skills must be reserved for specific timings due to gimmicks.
Any ally death results in forced defeat.
Blade’s death results in forced defeat.

If enemy attack power isn’t reduced, Blade’s HP will run out at the end of turn 16. Ensure Phantom is defeated by then.

Basic attack retaliation mechanic:

When a character uses a basic attack, the character to their right takes retaliation damage (including healers’ basic attacks).

  • Example: Position 1 attacks → Position 2 takes damage.
  • Example: Position 5 attacks → Position 1 takes damage.
  • Tip: Perform healing actions at the end of the turn.
Ultimate skill retaliation mechanic:

Using an ultimate skill triggers retaliation damage to the user. Monitor their HP closely.

Battle Flow

  • STEP1
    2T、12T:
Positions 1, 2, 4, and 5: Attack or use ultimate skill.
    Position 3: Defend.

    Position 3 will gain taunt.

    • Ultimate skills also count towards “10% damage reduction” for Position 3, so they can use an ultimate skill here if needed.
    • If Position 3 is SR Morvay, basic attacks are fine due to auto-guard.
  • STEP2
4T、14T:Positions 2 and 4: Ultimate skills are allowed anytime up to this point.
    • Example: Using Position 2’s ultimate skill on Turn 4 is fine.
    • Example: Using Position 4’s ultimate skill on Turn 3 is fine.
    • Positions 1, 3, and 5: Save ultimate skills.
    • From Turn 5 onwards, ultimate skills for Positions 2 and 4 should also be reserved.
  • STEP3
    5T、15T:
    Positions 2 and 4: Defend.
Positions 1, 3, and 5: Use ultimate skills.

※Using basic attacks here will lead to death (due to 400% retaliation).

  • STEP4
6T、16T:Ultimate Skills Allowed for CD3 or Lower

Up to this turn, only characters with CD3 or lower can use their ultimate skills freely.

    • Example: Using a CD3 ultimate skill on Turn 6 is perfectly fine.
    • Using a CD4 ultimate skill at this point will cause it to miss the timing for “Opening Act,” which will result in failure.
    • After this turn, all ultimate skills must be reserved (i.e., no ultimate skills should be used starting from Turn 7).
  • STEP5
    9T、19T:
Positions 2 and 4: Use ultimate skills first.
Positions 1, 3, and 5: Use ultimate skills afterward.

The order of actions is critical: Use ultimate skills from Positions 2 and 4 first, followed by the others.
